It needed to be clear, concise and practical - which is why, for starters,
it was produced in a handy pocket edition: about the size of a passport.
Dear xxxx
I am writing to let you know about a new service from the Bank that can save you time and trouble, is easy to set up - and costs you absolutely nothing to use.
Rather than having to request year-end Certificates of Interest, year after year, you can get us to do the work automatically on your behalf. All you need to do is contact your relationship manager and ask to be added to the new Automated Certificate of Interest database.
Provided we receive your request before the beginning of April, we will automatically dispatch certificates to you in the middle of April - and at the same time every following year for as long as you want us to.
To make setting up the service as easy as possible, you don't have to order certificates individually for separate client accounts. Simply make one request for your accounts to be added to the database and we will send out certificates for all these accounts, including those that have closed during the tax year.
For customers who decide not to be added to the database, we will be printing certificates for certain types of account and holding them at branches or service centres. These certificates will be available on an ad hoc basis from late April onwards. Certificates for any other types of account will continue to be produced manually on request.
If you would like us to send you Certificates of Interest for all your accounts, automatically and free of charge, please contact your relationship manager.
Yours sincerely
