five reasons why you’re better off with BankLine Account Manager

Up to now, you’ve done without managing your accounts online. So why should you take up BankLine Account Manager? Here are five reasons:

  • It will save you time and trouble

You can carry out all your day-to-day banking more quickly and easily and at a time that suits you, rather than sifting through paperwork and having to fit in with banking hours.

  • It will save you money

Charges for payments and transfers via Account Manager are significantly cheaper than for paper-based payments.

  • It will increase your financial control

A more up-to-date view of how much money you have in your accounts, an easier way to plan and make regular domestic payments - just two examples of the enhanced financial control Account Manager gives you.

  • It is easy to use

From the self-install software to the familiar layout of information, Account Manager has been designed to make it quick and easy for you to manage your accounts via your PC.

  • It is secure

Only nominated staff can access Account Manager using passwords that can be changed regularly. By limiting each person’s access to specific information and/or functions, you retain complete control over the service.

managing your money

From checking balances to moving money between accounts, Account Manager puts financial control at your fingertips.

Keep track of your accounts at the touch of a button

With Account Manager, you can keep track of up to 10 NatWest sterling and currency accounts, including personal accounts, via your PC. It’s a whole lot easier than having to wait for and wade through paper statements or having to call up your bank to check a detail on an account.

Check balances

At the start of each business day, you can download the balances on all the accounts for the previous business day together with details of incomings and outgoings for the next three days. A snapshot of the state of play on all your accounts that you can access offline as and when you want to throughout the day.

Check transactions

From the day you start using the service, Account Manager retains a full history of all the transactions on your accounts - a comprehensive record that builds up over time. Want to check a specific transaction? The quick search facility finds it for you - much less time and trouble than looking through paper statements to find the relevant entry.

Check regular payments

You can review details of your standing orders and direct debits so you can see exactly what payments are due to leave your accounts and when. If you want to cancel a regular payment, or indeed stop a cheque, simply send the message down the line.

Move money between accounts to maximise returns

You can quickly and easily transfer money between accounts reported on Account Manager. If you have surplus funds in your current account, you can move them to an interest-bearing account so you earn the maximum return. Of course, you can also move money just as easily in the other direction to cover outgoings.

Same day value transfers can be made up to 4.30pm on any business day - no need to call your bank, just key in the transfer and send it down the line. As well as last-minute same day transfers, you can also plan ahead by preparing transfer instructions up to 23 days in advance. As a result, you can do the majority of your monthly funds transfer planning in one go, rather than day by day - so you have more time for other business.

Export account information to make reconciliation easier

You can export information from Account Manager directly into accounting and other financial packages, so you don’t have to re-key the details in order to carry out reconciliation. Another time saver that also cuts down errors.

Order cheque books and other items

If you need new cheque books, paying-in books or statements, simply request them online as and when you want to rather than having to ring up or write to your branch.

making payments

Making payments via Account Manager is not only more convenient than paying by cheque - it’s also cheaper.

Pay staff, suppliers and other regular outgoings the easy way

You can pay staff salaries, supplier invoices and other regular UK based payments quickly and easily via Account Manager’s Autopay facility. You simply send the payees’ account details once to the Bank and they are added to your library of beneficiaries. Then, as and when you want to make a payment, you simply key in the amount and the payment date, or import the details from another software package, and send that down the line. The payment will be made on the specified date and will reach the beneficiary’s bank account three working days after that date. Compare this to writing and posting salary cheques month after month, for example.

For added convenience and control, you can prepare payment instructions up to 23 days in advance and send them through to the Bank at any time.

And for added security, you can have a second person verify and/or authorise payments.

Make ad hoc domestic and international payments

You can also make ad hoc domestic and international payments as and when you want to. The domestic payments can either be on a three day payment cycle or same day CHAPS payments. All your ad hoc payments can be prepared up to 180 days in advance. To enhance security, you can use Smartcards and PINs to authorise these payments.
