Nit picking chit chat
According to a recent book,
human language has its roots in a favourite chimp pastime: picking
the nits out of each other's hair. Social chit chat, like mutual
grooming among primates, releases endorphins - the brain's happy
juice.
Proof, if any were needed, that it really is good to gossip.
