BT is keen to play a leading role in supporting the government's efforts to use technology to help bridge the gap between itself and the general public.

Integral to that effort is a joint venture with Marconi, which aims to put thousands of multimedia kiosks throughout the UK, giving people direct access to the government services and information they need.
