tell me a story

Imagine what an eye-opener it would be if 100,000 people in more than 100 countries all got together to share their experiences. To encourage this to happen, we wrote a series of story cards inviting BP people around the world to tell their stories.

[Story 1]

Picture side of the postcard:

fuelling...

Words on the other side of the postcard:

...dreams The most abundant substance on the planet, capable of being turned into nothing but pure energy and water - no wonder hydrogen is potentially the wonder fuel of the future. The trouble is, it’s devilishly hard to get hold of. And then you have to store and transport it. None of it’s easy, but we’re doing all we can to make it happen. We’re working on producing hydrogen from hydrocarbons without letting the carbon dioxide enter the atmosphere. We’re exploring the use of renewable energy to turn water into hydrogen and on into more energy. We’re collaborating with the major auto companies to work out how best to transport hydrogen. Just three examples of our determination to make the dream of hydrogen fuel a reality.

[Story 2]

Picture side of the postcard:

new lease...

Words on the other side of the postcard:

...of life. At Baglan Bay, we’re turning the site of an ageing power plant into a brand new source of enterprise and employment: the Baglan Energy Park. The cornerstone of our £3m investment in job creation for the local community, the Energy Park aims to deliver 6000 jobs over the next ten years. The Park will also be home to the world’s most efficient gas-fired power plant. Currently under construction, General Electric’s plant will break the 60% efficiency barrier, set new standards in emissions reduction and cut electricity costs by up to a third. It just goes to show that if you’re positive and inventive enough, you can do anything.

[Story 3]

Picture side of the postcard:

it’s like taking 3 million cars off the UK’s roads...

Words on the other side of the postcard:

go green People love cars. But they also want a cleaner environment. Some might say you can’t square this circle. We know we can. Throughout the UK, for example, we’ve introduced an ultra low sulphur petrol (ULSP) called BP Cleaner Unleaded - the first of its kind. It’s so clean that the resulting reduction in emissions from using it nationwide would be like taking nearly 3 million petrol cars off the UK’s roads. It also contains advanced detergents that improve performance by keeping the engine cleaner. And it’s cheaper, thanks to the ULSP tax break we’re passing on in full to our customers. Fuel that’s better for the environment, for cars, and for people’s pockets. Who says you can’t have more mobility and a greener planet?
